Getting into medicine is a complex process. It’s not just about your academic performance, you also need to succeed in UCAT and sometimes interviews. There are many important deadlines that you must not miss if you are to enter your dream course. Candidates taking the UCAT in 2022 for entry to universities in 2022, should note the following key dates:

Ensure (and double check) that you have both registered to sit UCAT and selected a UCAT testing session

Sit the UCAT

Receive your results on UCAT test day

Application dates for Otago University

Apply for admission into the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Dental Surgery at Otago University

Results delivered to universities

No action required – this is done automatically

1 October

Application closing date for Auckland University

Apply for admission into the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Auckland University

From 7 October

Offers released for Otago

Check your email for offers and celebrate your success!

First week of November

Auckland university releases offers for interviews

Ensure you regularly check the email address you have provided for interview notifications

Last two weeks of November

Auckland university conducts interviews

Commence interview preparation (the earlier the better)

Ensure you have obtained work experience and volunteer work in a health-related field

Late December

Offers released for Auckland

Check your email for offers and celebrate your success!
